This was the last video I was able to get with my camcorder before it crapped out again. Indefinitely there will be no new video from it but I will try to get it fixed.

Tri-County trip outing with Rudy (rufec12).

So we were catching up to O722 and settled for Dania as I would have the best setup and lighting conditions.

11:30 AM
CSX Miami Sub
Griffin Rd/Gulfstream Way - MP SX1016.21
CSX O722-28 - 1st Miami-Fort Lauderdale Switcher
CSX 4311 (GP39-2)
16 loads for Transflo, Home Depot, Boise-Cascade, Allsteel and Gypsum, and more

Afterwards, I headed over to the FEC side seeing 965 was lined and didn't move. His consist was quite weird. The engines and 3 dead loads unhooked to set out the cut at Stirling to work the industry.

11:41 AM
Old Griffin Rd - MP 345.3
FEC 965 - Fort Lauderdale-Miami Shuttle
FEC 425 (GP40-2)
3 dead loads for Stirling
FEC 438 (GP40-2)
29 cars

After which, I finally met up with Rudy. We shared:

12:40 PM
CSX Miami Sub
Parker - MP SX999.1
Tri-Rail P622-28
TRCX 511 (Bombardier Cab Car)
2 Bombardier Coaches
TRCX 812 (GP49H-3)

On to Deerfield for P092 and to meet the cool crew. Engineer Aaron and Randy had nice camaraderie with us and Ron Dietrich.

12:45 PM
Deerfield Beach Station - MP SX998.3
Tri-Rail P625-28
TRCX 817 (GP49H-3)
2 Bombardier Coaches
TRCX 502 (Bombardier Cab Car)

They met P092 at Parker.

12:50 PM
Amtrak P092-28 - Silver Star - Miami, FL - New York, NY
AMTK 91 (P42DC)
AMTK 166 (P42DC)
Baggage
2 Viewliner
Café Car
Diner Car
4 Amfleet Coaches

An idiot driver caused Aaron to blow the horn extra loud so I saved the meat of the departure for the end.

At lunch at Lou's, I set up the camcorder on the wooden deck for 202.

1:57 PM
FEC Mainline - Lou's subs - MP 331.0
FEC 202-28
Miami, FL - Jacksonville, FL
CITX 140 (SD70M-2)
FEC 714 (SD40-2) Heritage Unit
Rock, Intermodal, Autoracks, 2 dead loads

O717 was in the picture as well, working SB trailing points in the Pompano market.

2:50-3:15 PM
CSX Miami Sub- MP SX1002.3
CSX O717-28
CSX 4317 (GP39-2)
10 cars out, no cars in - Spotting one car out and in at Fast-Dry Courts

Tri-Rail P629 passes in the meantime. See P622's consist.

In comes the Sawgrass break and I'm back to FEC for 960. We got out at Copans to check on him and he finally left when we filled up at Cypress Creek.

7:14 PM
FEC Mainline - Cypress Creek Rd. - MP 335.3
FEC 960-28 (SB) - Pompano Switcher
FEC 422 (GP40-2)
39 dead loads

On to Boca, and a little wait finds us 101.

8:05 PM
MP 324.5 - Palmetto Park Rd.
FEC 101-28
Jacksonville, FL - Miami, FL
FEC 101 (SD70M-2) lol
FEC 104 (SD70M-2)
FEC 708 (SD40-2)
11,122' intermodal hotshot

Dinner and the camera gives up during a wait for Q453. Boy was I upset, and to add insult to injury, Tri-Rail P648 had hit a trespasser at Hollywood and JG was telling both Q452 to stop at Hardy and Q453 to stop BEFORE Parker. Awful!

We will be trying to get this camcorder repaired (AGAIN). Panasonic agreed to a free repair and will get it done. If it screws up, I may get an equivalent product new. All I require, it be 1080 and have 35x optical zoom. ;)

Nice shunting activity at 07:10, my father does this kind of yard operation all day long! Nice night-shot at 09:00! The bonus footage was CREEPY! Thanks to that blonde woman who managed the situation!! Really enjoyed to watch all your movie! Happy New Year from Romania!

  • @TrainsInRomania Happy new year to you too! Thanks a lot! That switching was crazy action and I was glad to capture it from there, otherwise I'd be waiting where I caught him leaving and miss out on the fun.
