Quick video on the Thompson SMG Model 1928. This is the same style and model submachine gun as used by both gangsters and law enforcment during the 1920's and 1930's.

  • Wow.... Tommy guns are really really sexy! +_+ I love Thompson SMGs!

Oh, um.. by the way. I have a one simple question.

How fast is this gun? 800rpm?

  • @RuHartnett Between 750 and 850 rpm.

  • @C2builder Than this gun can select fire rate like BAR?

  • @RuHartnett Yes

  • 2 questions, if you'll indulge me.

    1. How noisy is the drum? I've heard that one of the reasons the drum was unpopular during WW2 (aside from the weight and bulk), was that it rattled alot making sneaking around the batllefield (even) more difficult.

    2. Why wasn't the vertical grip avalible on the M1A1?

  • @AtholAnderson

    1. Very noisy, thats the main reason the US military didn't use them, plus they are heavy.

    2. The vertical grip was prone to breaking in combat.

  • thompson seems to handle recoil better than many assault rifles in full auto mode

  • @jkarmanovskiy Several other types, from the M1921 (the first production Thompson, which looked like the 28, but had some significant differences in construction including use of brass fittings in some areas and no compensator) to the M1923 (which was meant to rival the BAR, fired a special heavy .45 round, and had a bayonet/bipod lug), the original 1927 (semi-auto only, open bolt), the M1 (horizontal foregrip, no drum mags), and M1A1 (further simplified M1), among other models.

  • @C2builder I really didn't know that. You can select the fire rate mode on the Thompson 1928? Surely not via selector.

  • arent there other type of thompson submachine gun?

  • i think i have a decent question...you see, i'll try and keep it simple, I live in Europe, and we are not allowed to own guns, can you please adopt me...and if i'm too old for that, employ me as your chauffeur for free, and I'll get a second gun(I HONESTLY MEANT JOB), i'll marry your neighbour's daughter and get a GREEN CARD....so...what do you say?
