This is how I use a small laser to check the centre point and blade pitch on a multi blade head. In this case it is the 5 blade head that is fitted to a Vario MD900 Explorer RC helicopter. Note how you can check the laser point as it passes along the lower part of each blade grip to ensure they are all exactly the same.

This engine and head is mounted on a test rig mounted onto a Workmate.

The laser used is a very small and cheap red pointing laser that can be purchased from many source for about £5.00. I made up a wooden mount that screws to my bench that lets me adjust the laser in all 3 dimensions - really simple but very effective way to check anything where yuo need several things to be in exactly the same plane.

  • hi very interesting , i here you are setting up the heli comand , love to see how you set it up i am thinking of getting one for my raptor 50 to lession the crashing ,factor ,, please can you go over the set up many thanks from new zealand , thanks
