  • Pussy!

We have smörgåsbord with surströmming every midsummer :)

    It's horrible! But it's tradition!

  • Its not rotten. Its the opposite of rotten. A can of surströmming cointains less bacteria then other kinds of food you buy in the store.

By the way, asking people from Stockholm if they like surströmming...they dont have that culture there. Here in the north everyone eats it!

  • @maulcs No, its not rotten. Its fermented. Just like beer, wine, cacao, salami, butter and many other kinds of food.

  • @Tompskij Opposite of rotten? It's right on the line of rotten. Barely above it.

  • Grow Up :p

  • lmao! dear god. imf. i miss you so badly.

  • haha hurru Håkan!

  • Inga konstigheter!

  • Surströmming är inte rutten fisk, utan jäst under kontrollerade former. Surkål tillverkas på liknande sätt.

It's not rotten. It's fermented, like sauerkraut is. Controlled fermentation. :-)

  • It is not rotten, it is fermented. And you have to be a Swedish Wiking at heart to be strong enough to eat it. Just kidding, it is actually good tasting, eaten the right way. Beer is fermented to, you do not call beer rotten, do you? Hard boiled eggs do not smell good either, but not this strong of course....
