Dogs with white long coats actually handle the heat quite well. I have a Samoyed, if you shave their coat you risk giving them a severe sunburn because they're totally pink on their skin, and the coat actually helps keep them cool by both reflecting the sun, and allowing them to remove excess heat from panting.

Clipping the coat is like removing insulation from a house to keep it cooler in summer.

Is that Pyr fat or is the coat really that long?

I don't know Pyrs very well, but I know some people think my super skinny Samoyed is on the heavy side.
