Mainstream media making viewers more uninformed?

The holiday season has seen an increase in people going shopping, but are people aware of the happenings around them? In a recent study viewers of Fox news were less informed than the people who didn't watch the news. Should people pay less attention on shopping and more on current events? Chris Chambers, journalism professor at Georgetown University, helps us analyze what's going on.

City people are bored... everything you do costs something so they sit and watch TV programing. I don't even own a phone or TV. Just a computer. In the city you can't even grow a garden anymore. Laws are made to force you to spend... everything from car seats,to bicycle helmets. Paid parking if you want to go for a hike, skiing or any other out door activity. I moved out of the "Metropolice" city dump and found a nice quiet town. You can pull a U turn on main street with out getting a ticket!

@miketv i respectfully ask you to refer to the dictionary for the specific definition of some of the words you are using (especially bias and bigot) as parts of your argument are inaccurate. it is precisely personal bias which dictates what you believe is right or wrong. you should explore and dissolve your anger, it can truly blind a person from the more subtle aspects of reality. and i dont think i ever recall rt saying they are the only people reporting truth.

Most news channels are guilty of unethical reporting including the BBC, Fox, CNN, Al Jazeera and others including RT. They do have some great documentaries and some of the interviews with Western economists and politicians are more candid than you would find on most western news channels.
