Maybe you should READ a book. its not so terrible to understand a subject. As I said ONE of the biggest contributing factors was a very unconventional dust storm that created the drive to california for many oklahoman's and the like. Hence the coining of the term "Okies" But your right all this was from some "textbook" and we all know they're clearly full or withcraft and will lead to obama taking your guns. moron.

I'm not going to explain your country's history to you (seriously what do they teach in american schools?) but i will throw you a bone. Cause and effect. Tarriffs and declining trade, along with the great oklahoma dustbolw effect, marginalized by government tax impositions and failure to regulate commisions like lending and borrowing. the way the government operated was to allow banks to become privatized, and then turn the screws to them. Most little banks were independant and went bankrupt too

What other 'socio-economic' factors?
Please explain...because all I've read and seen is how the Gold wasn't backed up, with the introduction of 'credit' managing wasn't done right, & there was dirty business happening within the banks during this period
And these were more than just 'hard times ' more than 1/2 the country was going damnnear homeless, LITERALLY living on dimes a day. .I don't support violence/crime..but when shit hits the fan its expected. That's why I don't rip on B & C for it.

"the banks are what CAUSED the depression in the 1st place"
you are very wrong on this. The socioeconomic factors were MUCH greater than simply stating that the banks caused the depression. You could not have made a more glib interpretation.I dont have to "respect the times", statistically many places in the u.s. are much worse off currently than they ever have been before, and i wouldnt think it was funny or romantic if some piece of shit tried to steal my car and use "hard times" as an excuse

W. D. Jones had been a friend of the Barrow family since childhood, and though he was only 16 years old on Christmas Eve 1932, he persuaded Barrow to let him join up with the pair and ride out of Dallas with them that night. The very next day, Jones was initiated into homicide when he and Barrow killed Doyle Johnson, a young family man, in the process of stealing his car in Temple Texas"
Yeah I can definately respect this. It wasnt like they murdered him ON christmas.
