Because He's Special.

It's a little trailer or a preview of what my thesis--a screenplay is going to be like. It's basically about the struggles of living and growing up with a very special brother.

I featured my autistic brother, Lenard.

I have almost no experience with autism, but my little brother has cerebral palsey and some other problems. When he was an infant the doctors told our parents they should have him institutionalized, that he would never even be able to attend a school for the disabled. He fooled them... he graduated from a regular high school, special ed program of course, but still he's a high school grad. He still lives with mama and does odd jobs for nieghbors. But he showed those doctors!!!

I'm curious... What odd jobs? =)Leonard's classmate was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy too, but now, he's like a champion or something for figure skating... He's Jonnel Enorme--his story was made into a TV drama in support of his travel expenses going in the US. you could google his name and see what this wonder boy could do! (come to think of it, he's a lot older than I am... So I call him, "Kuya" Jonnel.)

Eric does simple yardwork (they live in the desert so no lawns to cut) or caring for pets when a nieghbor is away. It is his other learning and emotional disabilities that prevent him from entering a more formal work force.

haha there are still some raw footage of him enumerating the US presidents... He's into the "Royal Family" right now... whereas back then, he used to like the US First ladies: Ladybird Johnson, Eleonor Roosevelt and such!
