@pcardenal You're still not getting it. The train is going backwards (from her seat point of view); but towards the correct destination. That is why from your original comment, her seat/the train is going backwards, that is why it isn't a silly thing to say...

@JtotheIza She, and David too, meant literately the train going backwards. That´s clear. If not, she wouldn´t be surprised about that, and there would be no point for her to mention it.

@pcardenal You know she didn't mean literately the train going backwards right? She meant that the seat she was sitting in, started moving in the opposite direction then when it originally started; not the train started heading "backwards" from where it came. Trains do this when they switch to bigger engines for longer trips, they will switch the engines and caboose and pull in the opposite direction (backwards) after making a U turn of course. Dime piece either way.
What a silly thing to say.Trains don´t go backwards anywhere, not even in Spain. It´s your seat that is backwards or forwards.
