Westinghouse 2-piece deep ramp agitator from 1968 installed in my 1977 White-Westinghouse LA495 washer. I've had this agitator for a while, just no machine to use it in until a year ago, and it is definitely THE best (and splashiest) agitator for these machines. Watch it tackle a full load (with the obligatory Fresh Start even though you don't see it) consisting of 3 pairs of jeans, 4 pairs of boxers, and 7 shirts.

  • That rinse agitation is so "splashy"!

  • that agitation is BEAUTIFUL

  • My Grandmother's 1966 Westinghouse Multi-Program Laundromat had an agitator like this one. It was built before they came out with the dual agitator. It had a different drive block. The top of the agitator was smooth and the cap was the same diameter as the agitator. The agitator was made of bakelite and the cap had the Westinghouse symbol molded into the top of it. It was front serviceable, clutch drive, and had a dual chamber pump. Dude you would've loved that machine! i sure did! So did she.

  • I remember this agitator. Dual action, right? We used to own a White Westinghouse washer years ago. Do you have a White Westinghouse Washer? We bought a washer with this agitator in it. The transmission went out, and my dad came came up with the idea of putting plastic around the part where the agitator sits. Then 4 months later, the motor died. 5 stars, mate!
