Bryn Terfel (b.1965) Born in Pantglas, North Wales, Terfel is a Welsh operatic bass-baritone.
The Choirboys were an English boyband, made up of cathedral choristers. They were: Charles John "CJ" Porter-Thaw (b.1994) from Sheffield, Patrick Aspbury (b.1993) from Chelmsford, and Ben Inman (b.1993), from Yorkshire.
Here they sing Franck's Panis Angelicus (key transposed down to a baritone range for Terfel)

Bizarre comments from one or two cloth-eared nay-sayers below. Skillful switching back and forth of the lead line, the harmonies, the concentration - something quite special created here. Audience knew it, they knew it. Bravo!

It's in G, which is the key most baritones use. The echo part on the second part is used pretty often, though I don't know who thought up the harmony on the first verse. Don't think it was necessary. Also a little bit surprised at how the kids are straining their vocal chords a little instead of using head voice. I expected better from their director.

What key are they singing in?

The boys needed turning up in volume...that's all. Then Bryn Terfels lower line would have blended very well.....nothing wrong with the arrangement at all!

The most horrible arrangement imaginable!! Marketing gimmicks at the cost of musicality! Their voices are obviously horribly matched for this song. Bryns' is too low for the arrangement and a lower key would have been too low for the trebles so they have this atrocious compromise of a nasty arrangement. Awful.
