Johannesburg is the largest economic metropolis in Africa. Downtown Johannesburg, however, is one of the world's most violent places. Most offi ce buildings have been vacated or squatted and are occupied by various groups of illegal Africans from neighbouring countries. Thousands of fortune seekers are trying to build a new life in this anarchist urban jungle. Meanwhile, the city is preparing for the World Cup soccer 2010, an important opportunity for Johannesburg to present itself to the world. The city centre needs to be cleaned up, and everything is being done to make sure that this major event will run smoothly. But will it succeed? And what will be the consequences for the thousands of immigrants in the city center? Rob Schröder visited Johannesburg repeatedly since January 2008 to document the changes. Is it possible to control this city of hope and fear, and to transform its center into a safe and acceptable place to live? And how does anyone survive in Johannesburg at all?

Call me a rascist, God knows i'm not, but i just cant uderstandr how is it that the black population in Africa are so undeveloped, poor etc... South Africa is a country that has all the conditions to be a well developed country, and you can see that in history it was, but the black people still live in these ghettoes, still aren't working, stiill resort to crime, and are always complaining... Nobody is going to help but yourselves.

Unfortunately, South Africa-Zuid-Afrika was a better place, most of the Middle Class whites have left and too many people running over the border from Africa! Yes, most of the affluent people has left, cream of the crop has left! Too much crime and government corruption! Such beautiful country going to a waste like Rhodesia! Had soo much potential! Apartheid was a lesser EVIL but still a little better, never thought I will ever say that!

So at about 4:05 the guy starts talk about the current infrastructure being in the state it is in, because of the apartheid legacy. I dare anyone to go and search for picture or even film footage of the areas in question, in the late 80's early 90's, before the ANC government took over. The current decay of infrastructure is because the ANC government is mismanaging the country.
