CGRundertow - FLATOUT for Nintendo Wii Video Game Review

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of FlatOut from Team 6 Game Studios and Zoo Games for the Nintendo Wii. FlatOut is an exclusive new entry in the FlatOut racing series, a franchise known for its emphasis on demolition and its impressive physics. The FlatOut Wii iteration at least gets the demolition right, allowing plenty of opportunities to crash into stuff...but the problem is most of the time, you're crashing because the controls are so terrible. Why do game developers feel the need to take a successful game series, make a new, shitty sequel to it, and just throw it on the Wii? It's like they don't give a shit about the Wii... oh... wait... THEY DON'T! The only real companies that can be trusted to work on the Wii are Nintendo (of course), Capcom, Konami, and Sega. No one else! Oh... wait... and Suda51.

There is new company developing it. The earlier Flatout games were devloped by Bugbear, and were great. The the publisher thought they would cash in on the success, and get another developer to make one cheaply.

The exact same thing happened with Carmageddon. The first two were great, then they got a new company to do the development, and made Carmageddon TDR2000, which lacked everything that made the first two great.
