I just read this comment again... Where the heck did you get the idea that Kurt Bestor was mocking Christianity?! Haha, that's like saying Handel wrote "The Messiah" to mock Christianity... Huh. what?
-
Umm... I'm pretty sure the Kurt Bestor was not wanting to mock Christianity. him being a Christian himself.

@jubear91 Ummmm... It was written to sung either way. Read the composition before you make assumptions.

The sound is good, but I agree... it is sort of lacking emotion. My school's men's group did this for one of the breaks during our tour concerts and I don't think the conductor was up there with them. You have to be able to emote at all times, really own what you sing. Again great sound.

@dudemanchoir it sounds beautiful, so so beautiful, but definitely more expression and emotion is needed. it would have made the performance 100% amazing, instead of 95%

Good singing but like others said the dynamics are a little unobserved or poorly done as well as the holds aren't done for long enough and that combines to suck some emotion out of the song. But it is one of my favourite pieces so I can't complain :)

@dudemanchoir that dudes retarded he wrote this cus he was working at an ofanage and it got bombed

what did u place and tenors need to blend more but i love it
This song was written to be fast in parts and choppy in others. We sang it EXACTLY as it was written. We took very little license. But I appreciate all the comments. It was at Mountain View High School in Orem, UT. Our tenors could have been stronger, but we didn't have enough people, so we had to use some less experienced singers to fill our double quartet.

@dudemanchoir The harmonising is fine, it just lacks any emotion whatsoever, you guys either need a) a conductor B) a new conductor or C) to go back and rehearse this with the emotion thats needed, its a sad song, and it has to be performed properly, thats with emotion not just as the score reads. But it was fantastically harmonised and i love it!

Well, considering it was a solo/ensemble, we didn't have the luxury of having a conductor. I appreciate the comment though. I felt like we had plenty of emotion, but we also wanted to stay under control.
