  • Don't be afraid of the lil bugger. Jerking motions with any ferral animal is bad. If you show that you are not afraid or timid and remain calm, they will accept you. Being nervous around it doesn't help. They got little teeth and little claws, no real danger. How is kitten doing now? Beautiful kitten by the way.

  • I know jerking movements don't help, but she scared the poop out of me! Just because they have little teeth and claws doesn't mean they can't cause damage. One little bite can mean blood poisoning and an unpleasant time.

  • My kitten was feral when I caught him. He's an adorable little bugger. He didn't like to be touched, so I put on a sweater, which was more than good enough to defend agaisnt his tiny claws, and loved on him anyways. Now, he thinks Im his momma, and has separation anxietys when I step outside for 10 minutes. You gotta get them used to you while they're young, or they'll be trouble when they're older.

  • My sister found a kitten on the highway and it was feral. she brought it too me and we put it in a cage. The kitten (we later named Shadow) was not happy. So i got a pair of thick gloves and picked her up. She was biting me and everything, but she could not bite through the gloves. The next day she was mostly tame. She is full grown now and still is really timid.

  • HOW I SOCIALIZED A FERAL KITTEN REAL FAST......I took in a kitten that had been meowing his head off for in my yard for a week. I went to a large pet supply store called PETCO. They carry "cat calming treats"...that contain brewers yeast etc. I gave the kitten 1/2 of a treat. He was drunk w/in 10 minutes & had no fear. I picked him up & cuddled him, talked to him, he loved it. Did this once a day for 3 days.....having him drunk and calm accelerated the domestication.....he lost all his fear

  • that was almost torture to watch dont give up on the first try and say w/e it takes patients give it a plate or bowl of food and drink, leave the cat alone let it examine whats infront of em and when the cat has gotten use to the food and the fact that u bring it then the cat should start warming up to u

  • I put the ferals I socialize in the bathroom w/wood in so they can't get out when I open door. I don't leave food in all time. Only when I visit. I don't make eye contact, but baby talk all the time. Use baby food at first for taste. When feeding I sit w/my legs up & arms down w/palms out. I don't move. Eventually, sometimes on 2nd day they explore. If touch my hand, good. They will come to me soon for food. I sit every time. Soon they rub on my hand & crawl on my legs. On the way to socializing

  • @Frogfish999 This poor scared kitten now has a chance for a good life. The average age for ferals is running about 1.5 years here. That is the average! Most of the little ones don't make it the first year!!! We have idiots who use them for target practice & don't check if they are hurt. Idiots tie them together by the tails & watch them fight. Please spay/neuter any animal! If your pet gets lost it will reproduce & add to the problem.Find a home for your pet if you have to move! Don't toss it.

  • My cat was wild cat but I gave some dry cat food to her everyday. She follow me every day for food. I did not touch her because of feral or wild cat . She followed to my home and come inside. I can't touch her. I bought litter box for her. Long time she learn to trust me and come to sleep with me on my bed every day. My cat allowed me to pet on her. I can't pick my cat up because she don't allowed me to pick her up. It is okay. She jump on my lap and pet her.

  • So sad... Poor scared kitten

  • We found my cats litter of kittens today, they are soo much ferel they hiss scratch ect. I hope its easy to tame them...):

  • I took in a feral cat 11 years ago. With the help of a vet, this is now the best cat I've ever had. He sleeps with me, gives me kisses, and loves to be carried. Dont give up it is well worth it. Talk to a vet it may need some medication to help it adjust to a new way of life, but once it does you will have a best friend. It will remember not having food, shelter, safety, and that you gave it all of that and more.

  • that's a pretty big hiss. =O
