  • i've watched a few people go through this on youtube now... but he's not screaming or wincing or anything.

either he's not complaining because he asked for it, or the guy holding his head is really helping somehow. i haven't seen it on other videos.

  • I think he went somewhere else in his mind like climbing a mountain somewhere! I cant really tell you why he didnt have a problem with it. He told us it was very uncomfortable.. Maybe it was just mind over matter? I dont think the guy holding his head had anything to do with it other than keeping him aligned since there was no head rest on the chair.. Gotta give alot of credit for this act.. Most people dont get that far, and they have tears streaming down their face..

    Way to be there, Beau!

  • your putting it into his sinuses lol..try a downward angle and you will have alot better results.

  • @teratogen42 yeah and them bag him with the bvm device lol

  • the guy behind him is kinda cute :)

  • i guess what he did was he was taking nice easy breaths which helps when something is unplesant i always take a nice easy breath of nitrous at the dentist when i know its going to be a rough procedure but its easier to focus on your breathing and try to relax as much as possible

  • You don't have to go that slow do you cause that's taking quite a bit of time, but kudos to the guy playing PT, I would want to know how it feels since I'm suppose to be doing it on others but if it's not required then... Haha

  • @DaughterUnderChrist

the guy holding his head is using the jaw thrust technique which opens the airway. it helps the NPA go in, as opposed to telling him to cough or stick out his tongue. tried it on someone and they almost threw up, so im still surprised that he can handle having it in.

  • Wow your calm you make it look easy! Well I've never got one so idk how it feels but everyone else looked in pain in their videos!

  • Kudos to that guy for being so patient and still! Might be a little slow with the insertion, but keep in mind it's probably his first time... good job

  • You CAN always try, like you said, and it fails often. Just recall any ER with a trauma intubation - they have at least 5 people on them all fighting to pin the patient to the bed when they try it. It doesn't go very well in conscious people. It is interesting to see that the way classes are run vary from place to place - even within a state.

  • @hotzelj he was not unconscious, and kudos to that guy im an EMT myself and ive seen many people attempt them on themselves... usually a hilarious fail
