i had the old stlye element short out and activate the anit-theft system on my 95. it would NOT allow the truck to start unless it is deactivated by a dealer. it cost me $500 to have my computer reflashed to fix this. i never reinstalled the heater to make sure i never went through this again. truck runs fine without it. i live in the NJ/NYC area and its never been a problem in the winter. AGAIN - great video.. thanks for takin the time.

what year 7.3 is this from? cause i think the o ring kits are different for the earleir years, also, im gonna guess yours is a later version 7,3 from looking at the fuel bowl heater. this is a great video, just what i was looking for. one thing id like to mention to anyone looking to do this with the other style heater element. BE VERY CAREFULL removing and instaling it. the older ones are much thinner, and if the element slips off the post its attached to, either throw it away or buy a new one
Darn good video! Props to you for the time taken
