Aujuittuq (Grise Fiord)
Aujuittuq means "place that never thaws," and at 1,150km (720mi) above the Arctic Circle, it is Canada's northernmost civilian community, with a population of 89. We were welcomed into the town hall, where we took in a fashion show at the local school.

  • @iamcool1908 It's a place with 89 people.

  • Thanks, Dick Allen. Very informative.

  • The University of Grise Fiorde boasts of several nobel prize winning professors. The four High schools have formed intense football rivalries. The cost of living is low as whale blubber and seal meat are the base currancy. The power never goes out as whale oil is used to fule the power plant. The Ianian government built a huge neclear power plant for them but meddling US Government threatened sanctions and a blockade of their dog sled routes if they did not comply.

  • When in doubt, the answer is always C.

  • So, is there anything you wanna know? LOL

  • Hey, where's the nearest university? How many schools are there? What about the political structure? What is the cost of living like? With the blizzards and all, does the power ever go out? How much does it cost to visit there if coming from USA? About how many tourists come annually? This is fascinating.
