  • I don't buy into the Objectivist view of "They hate us for our freedom." I think it's a very poorly supported claim. People around the world have many reasons for hating the US other than just "being irrational."

  • There are many swimmers who, I have no doubt, make up stories about how "Mark Phelps wouldn't have won 8 gold medals if it weren't for the fact that [insert mythical cheat/unfair advantage here]". They are the same ones who claim "I could win 8 golds to if, like Phelps, I had [insert mythical cheat/unfair advantage here]".

Others, more subtle in their self-deception, might argue that "I hate him not because he's a great swimmer, but because he [insert valse excuse here]...cont'd

  • ...(cont'd)...the latter is, far too commonly, what we see when people run down the USA. It's an attempt to hide - from others and from oneself - the nature of what one really hates, and to explain ones obvious hatred/envy by pointing to something else which - though still a lie - is much easier to delude oneself, and others, into believing.

Imagine a young woman in high school angry that they boy of her dreams is instead attracted to her friend....(cont'd)

  • ...(cont'd): a good looking, smart, honest moral friend...who has bad breath. If the spurned young woman admits to herself/others that she is upset because her dream man is attracted to her friend, she may feel she telling herself, and others, that her friend is better than herself. But, if she tells herself and others that the obvious anger/hurt she feels is actually disgust about her friends breath, she can avoid knowing/showing her feelings are related to her own self-evaluation.

  • ...(cont'd)...if she finds herself losing the ability to suspend disbelief, she can actively try to find other faults in her friend and, by ramping up the disgust, mask the hurt/anger.

"America? I hate it because of its foreign policy...because Bush is stupid...because Americans are boastful..." etc..."but I'm every bit as good as an American".

The Canadian version: "Sure, America's wealthy, but their health care system is inferior to our great Socialized system".

  • @Wonderbread167 Its not that you hate us, its because your jealous that the people you considered trash, have succeeded and has power you always wanted. Europe can do nothing without big daddy's permission, so you really hate yourselves. America and its people are considered nothing more then ignorant mongrels, nothing like the enlightened pure breds of Europe. Your bigots and I hate Europeans guts.

  • @swu880 It was obvious enough that the government rigged votes, until bush was elected making it more obvious than ever, and i also know that my rights mean shit here, but i simply cant go anywhere else, and im already being pushed down a deep hole, but overall you keep ignoring my point. Btw im not as old as you think. I have 20 up just to get those "too young" warnings out of the way. Its hard to reason with "patriots" who continuously call you "paranoid."

  • @swu880

All rights derive from the rights of private property; And the right to bear arms is the right to defend them. Namely, the rights of arms is the right to protect oneself from tyrannts

I dont hate Americans- i hate stupid sheeple & tyrants. The problem is, there aint many actual americans out there. Most are sheeple. But the worst are the hypocrites. And i try not to be one of them

  • @swu880

Both Repubs & democrats are same. Sure their "crap" may be different flavors, one's a little more red than the other, one's a little 'peppier' than the other, but both come from the same Pig thats screwing us.

The only option is for u to first learn of & seriously care for your rights- learn of what is private property and how to care for them. And not only learn how to care for ur rights, but actually do so.

  • @swu880 This is all just me though. I dont know much about this at all. But the only point i ever wanted to make is that you shouldnt hate american people because they are american.

  • @mah2ndzeldapawn

lol First of all, i am not sure if u had paid much attention in history class or civics or even if u have taken a real civics class. The current "voting system" aint much of a choice- there is NO real choice. choosing between "2 parties" both of which screw up govt, enlarge it like crazy, shoot us into more debt, screw up intl affairs, and serve only special interests. Moreover, the voting booths themselves have been found to be 'inaccurate' to say the least. They are rigged

  • @swu880 So what are you daying we can do? Vote our way out of this? Im still not saying you should hate the citizens of a country, but i know alot of Americans are brainwashed. Like you said, our government is stripping away our rights, and simply voting this situation away, is accelerating out of reach, if not already too far. You suggest we get violent? Im pretty sure alot of US soldiers are more than willing to fight on the governments side, and we will regret it.

  • They just bend over & get raped. And so if people really dont start protecting their own rights & make the govt accountable, of course we probably do deserve the hatred & scorn of others. knowing of liberty & the violations of it at home yet doing nothing about it while trying to claim to promote freedom- thats the worst kind of hypocrisy

  • @mah2ndzeldapawn

"The worst crimes committed are those which are most tolerated"

The US hasn't stood for anything worthwhile. its infringed on every individual's right in every possible way. From rampant inflation & devaluing of the dollar, to regulating the crap out of buisinesses. to starting unconstitutional & very unjust wars, murders, even assasinations of its own "citizens"

Yet a whole mass of people act like sheep & do nothing.

  • @swu880 Its only natural to adapt to your environment. Too many people who worship our government so much, and it creates an environment where you have to bow down to our government. But there are still ALOT of Americans who dont trust our own government. But thats a stupid reason to hate the citizens of the country.
