Tapejara, a 115-million-year-old pterosaur, could not only fly, but had an innate nautical knowledge of sailing, Texas Tech University researchers found.
Working with scientists at the University of Kansas and University of Florida, Sankar Chatterjee, Horn Professor of Geosciences and curator of paleontology at the Museum of Texas Tech University studied the design of the dinosaur.
He found that it could manipulate its body to match the configuration of the worlds fastest modern windsurfers and sail across the surface of the ocean in search of prey
