Brooklyn Monk TESOL: Dealing with a Difficult Reading Text

Antonio Graceffo gives a presentation to ESL teachers in Taiwan, explaining his theories on appropriate reading texts and how to deal with a text which is too hard. ALG theory teaches that learning comes from input, not output. Consequently, Antonio stresses listening and reading, as opposed to speaking and writing as learning techniques. With listening, using a text which is slightly beyond the students ability could be useful. For reading, it is better to chose a text at a slightly lower level but then to do any analysis, discussion, presentations, comprehensions or writing at a higher level.

Antonio Graceffo has a post graduate diploma in TESOL from Trinity College, University of London. He earned a BA in foreign language and English from Middle Tennessee State University and studied applied libguistics at University of Mainz, Germany. He has twelve years experience as a TESOL teacher for students of all ages, from first grade to post graduate and professional colleges. He is the author of five books, available on amazon.
Antonio Graceffo is a martial arts and adventure author living in Asia. He is the host Martial Arts Odyssey, a web TV show which traces his ongoing journey through Asia, learning martial arts in various countries.
