A Driving Tour from Coniston to Ravenglass

This was a driving tour with friends from Coniston to Ravenglass to visit at least two Roman sites. After visiting Ruskin's grave and the cemetery where Donald Campbell is buried, we visited Hodge Close Quarry, before turning west over Wrynose Pass to Hardknott and its famous Roman Fort. From Mediobogdum, we descended into Eskdale for a visit to the Woolpack Inn before terminating the tour at Ravenglass where we visited the remains of the Roman bath house at Glanaventa.
