I was recently in Chelyabinsk, Russia on assignment fot http://ceso-saco.com and when stopping off at the corner store near my B&B to buy cigarettes, I thought that it would be cool to video a walk around the store so that folks everywhere could see what the shelves of such a store in a fairly large Russian city were stocked with...

  • Indeed, much the same, bands but made in Russia with lables in multiple languages in cities; villages have less choice small or v-local locally trading stores. Many clerks in similar stores Asian in appearance.

  • Remember, back in old days (1960), every items are behind the counter. First select your items you want, pay the cashier (at other location), give your coupon to counter person (other location again) and get your recipe and then pickup your items at first place. This can be very bad if have long line(s).

  • same products as here in Canada

  • I have seen such little stores under the label "Variant"( a grocery brand) , they are sometimes at the ground floor of a building.

  • Oh yeah i shoplifted a bottle of beer from there once!

  • I am from Chelyabinsk Russia

  • Also, similar products as here in Washington DC, USA. Especially the candies and junk food (Twix, Bounty candy bars). Watch out for High Fructose Corn Syrup (used instead of or in addition to sugar). It's what's responsible for Americans' huge, ballooning size and weight. Look up DR LUSTIG presentation on sugar here on youtube for info.

  • Kissinger: "Control oil to control countries. Control food to control people." This looks much like Mainz, Germany and even Paris, France. (fall, 2010)

  • Chelyabinsk is like any other city in Russia and you can find any brands whatsoever. They're also not restricted to sell alcohol from stores like most countries around Europe or the rest of the world were you have to find a licensed liquor shop. My only small drawback here was that I didn't find any papers or magazines in English.

  • A lot of alcohol XD

  • Most of there junk food is American, cool.

  • I've been to stores in Minsk that still do that.
