  • Hey Gettyman1

Haven't you ever heard of Josephus? The Jewish historian?

Ever hear of the New Testament of the bible. Its full of writings of people who met Jesus. That is why they put them in the Bible.

they weren't originally in the bible. They were letters people wrote who knew Jesus .

The the were compiled and and made into the Bible a religious book if you will. But that does not make them less true or historically accurate.

  • Hey Kate here's another challenge. Try to find any writings about Jesus that were written when he was supposed to have lived, or even close to that time. Hint: You wont find any but try anyway.

  • woo hoo! another deluded youth just what the world needs.

  • Good for you Kate ^^

  • Yep. Welcome to the 30 year old debate (or longer).

  • Isn't that in direct defiance of 1st Timothy?

  • Apparently not because in some Christian denominations, women do hold office.

  • "According to St. Paul, women are not allowed to be public teachers in the church; for teaching is an office of authority."

Very well, she is allowed to speak. But she must not teach nor have authority over a man. And women accept this?

  • Instead, how about you enlighten us as to how this girl is usurping authority over man or even teaching? She merely stated her belief in Jesus Christ.

The passage you refer to has to do with authority in the church. According to St. Paul, women are not allowed to be public teachers in the church; for teaching is an office of authority.

Cherry picking Bible passages to be unkind is quite a sin.

  • Ok, then please, enlighten us on how this can be taken in correct context.
