The Winter Namm 2009 sees 3 new products in the TASCAM range. All 3 products give direct recording to any location. Tascam have also updated their line converters and brought a free software update for all users of the DR-1.

All of Tascams current range of SD devices will now ship with 2GB SD cards for even more recording time.

Tascam DR-100

The Tascam DR100 builds on our popular DR1 field recorder with 4 on board mics, an onboard speaker for playback, all of the playback features of our trainer series can be found allowing material to be played back slower and at the same pitch. The Tascam DR100 is one of the only small profile field recorders to offer xlr inputs. Most functions on this field recorder are made using the on board switches.

Tascam DR-07

The Tascam DR07 is a slim line handheld recorder with stereo Mics. This recorder allows you to slow down playback, create new tracks while in record mode & divide tracks after record. The Tascam DR07 is ideal for anyone wanting high quality recordings without the musicians features available in the DR1. The Tascam DR07 has a clear LCD display which shows metering, recording mode and file browsing. The Tascam DR07 gives up to 8 ½ hours of recording on 2 standard AA batteries.

Tascam BB-1000CD

Next up is the Tascam BB-1000CD which is a SD & CD recorder in a Boom Box style. This is powered from either an AC adapter or 8 AA batteries allowing recording on the move. The Tascam BB-1000CD has 4 built in mics or 2 mic/line inputs for recording direct to CD or SD. Once again all of the features of Tascam's trainer series can be found on this machine making it an ideal practice aid. CDs can be finalised for playback on most CD players or wav or MP3 recordings can be made direct to SD.

  • I CANNOT RECORD with Tascam DR-07. I hit record the 2nd time & it appears to be recording, BUT NO bars for L & R showing up. (I had it set up to record standard large wave files) When I look at files it shows a wave, but when I play it back, there is NO sound. I put the memory card into my computer to look at the waves in Cool Edit Pro & the stereo tracks were EMPTY. I have read the manual 5 times. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my recorder?

  • i got to dp-02 and its realy nice id recodmend it if u legitly want to get a cd of ur band

  • can you loop guitar stuff with the DP-02?

  • Thats got to be the coolest bass ive ever

    seen!!!!!!!!

  • nice

  • Be a lot nicer if the GTR1 had easily replaceable batteries, but a lot of reviews are positive. I wish I could find more samples of the built-in mic quality and not just line-in samples.

Also, the overdubbing feature is great and unique, however the quality degrades after each new layer is added. Small price to pay for a high-quality portable recording device though.
