William Shatner song from his Album "Has Been". This is my music video for it by myself and Ben Cleland. Oh yeah, and Ben Folds is the chorus.

  • Wow, what a cool song. xox

  • BTW, this song wasn't written by Shatner, but by an artist named Nick Hornby. The daughter in the song is Hornby's daughter, hence the references that aren't actually Shatner's daughter. Aimee Mann and Ben Folds are contributing artists, not the creative team behind the song.

  • This video is genius, and suits the song very well.

  • heard this song on KDHX a few minuets ago. Shatner and ben are awesome.

  • We all know it's another great Ben Folds song, but I didn't get the video. How is this about a father and is forty something year old daughter?

  • Who is the girl in the video supposed to be? The singer is singing about his daughter who he says is in her early forties, but this girl looks like a teenager - late twenties at most.

  • Man that hurts , I miss you baby girl !

  • Ben Folds and Bill did a great job of creating a unique haunting sound and a quality, if little known, album.

  • I love how Shatner creates a flawed character trying but failing to make a connection. Most artists gravitate toward hero or villain. Shatner seems most comfortable in shades of grey. He is a gifted artist.

  • It looks like two people aren't trying
