Interesting. I have a semi-serious disability that makes it hard for me to go places. Lately I've been hating that. Will look at your videos and get a bit of vicarious travellin!

Real Estate developers like Len Boone in Roanoke VA are permanently destroying pristine Parkway views...what a tragedy! We need to preserve this priceless resource, not erode it into oblivion. Less GREED and more creative planning is the answer. We have this incredible beauty at our feet and we desecrate it. Our children deserve better!

10-4! You may be a "tree huger", but there's no denying what you say is the truth... verily, verily.
You'd think the folks of Roanoke would, at least, consider the tourism generated by keeping those views pristine.

Just got back from down NC/VA way.
Saw a bit of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I was sad because I saw only a small part of it, but what I saw: blew me away.
I've done the Rocky Mts. USA/Canada - but the Appalachia (USA/Canada) still make me proud!
Thanks for sharing.

The Rockies (the Alps too)have their rugged good looks, But the Blue Ridge just begs for you lay back - say on a comfortable rocking chair - and watch the day go by. That's kinda ironic when you consider the Blue Ridge Parkway is a motorcyclist's dream come true - the best bike road in North America. 500 miles long, it runs like a gracefully laid ribon; every inch of it beatiful. You can drag your pegs as casually as a waltz. Yeah, that's what the Blue Ridge mountains are - garceful.
