My fish Collection

Shown are all of the fish I have. I think they are all beautiful and cute no matter what. The blue crowntail, Snoopy, is sick. I rescued him from walmart and I am trying to treat his fin ailments. Also shown are the baby guppies, betta girls, betta guys, and the big fat momma guppy. Please, no flames. Flames will be used to make s'mores. yummy!

One more thing, almost every white or albino finned Betta I've had lost all, or part of, their fins. Is this due to genetics? And how can I prevent this from happening again? I feed them regularly, they're kept warm, and I partially change their water every week. I give them complete water changes when needed. I've asked pet shops and re-read my books, but I couldn't find a cause or a solution.

I've read all of the books and consulted with EXPERTS. The containers are fine. The Bettas were perfectly happy...until some jerk broke in my room and bleached the containers...BUT that's besides the point. I've tried bigger containers and my fish don't like it. Trust me, I've had fish commit suicide and die of loneliness because the container was too big. If you read my other posts, my dorm is like a sauna, so they don't need heat. If you have nothing productive to post, then stay silent.

how much do u feed ur betta fish a day? i feed mine around 3 or 4 flakes but he doesnt eat them all until 5 days later

@desigirlfan2000 I feed them as many flakes as they can handle. I sometimes overdo it a little. Have you tried changing foods?

5 gallon for the guppies?

5 gallon for each betta? (2.5G at least)

filter for bettas?

Your betta is sick because it's being kept in a less-than-one-gallon-unheated-­unfiltered container.

Just because Bettas CAN live in those environments, doesn't mean you SHOULD keep them in those environments.
