Natalie Flath, an all-american girl, raised by a Russian mother has the opportunity to visit Russia (the land of her ancestors) and love orphans living with HIV/AIDS. Journal entry:
"Visited the HIV baby orphanage today and experienced a little piece of heaven. Blocked by cement walls and security, little children are laughing, running and playing on the colorful playground. Their energies warmed my heart. 1.4 million children are newly infected with HIV each year and I met 15 of them today. And that's all I needed to understand the cost of this life-long disease." Composed for Dr. Lisa's Africa Challenge. This sounds cheesy, but I've studied french for 7 years and I've always been fascinated with African culture and language. I would love to engage the girls of Africa and be apart of their lives.
So do you at least speak Russian? I mean its your language, you are Russian too! Bless your work and I hope you are successful. I am a Bosnian-American who recently went back to my country for the first time and visited a similar facility! Bless you.
