How to deal with a low or inconsistent undergraduate grade point average when applying to business school. Remember the admissions committees are simply made up of people trying to understand who you are and what you've been through. Your past doesn't define your future.

  • When you saw low, how low do you mean? Below a 3.0? Or would that be too low? What if you had a 2.6 or 2.7 in engineering from a top 10 engineering school? Assume ofcourse a GMAT of 700+.

  • @Cphari I've seen people get into top schools with below a 3.0. However, this is rare. There must be an outstanding GMAT score (as you mentioned) and an explanation of why the GPA is low (beyond being an engineering degree from a top 10 school). You must tell them in an honest and professional way why the GPA is what it is.

  • I have a 2.4 GPA in college and by the end of this spring semester, I intend to push it up with a 2.7. Would any college accept me with such a low GPA. My mother has her heart set on seeing me go to graduate school and obtain my Master's degree in Physical Education.
