Huntington Beach - Marathon

The 2011 Surf City Marathon and Half Marathon drew the biggest fields of runners in the 15 year history of the event. Surf City is one of the premier marathon events in the country, and Runners World Magazine declared it the featured race of the month. Running a marathon and running a half marathon have become extremely popular, and thousands of marathon runners enjoyed perfect weather and a beautiful seaside course in Huntington Beach, CA. Marathon running wasn't the only thing on the schedule; Track and Field legend Steve Scott led kids and volunteers in charity runs to support the Free Wheelchair Mission and other civic charities in Huntington Beach. Marathon announcer Rudy Novotny hosted the event alongside Nick Garner of http://www.sportstalkforkids.com.
