  • Ignore celt130 as he knows nothing about proper nutrition. He believes roughly 6.25 billion people eating 58 billion animals by the end of this year is just fine. Well, that just proves that he is ignorant.

  • @vegansnowboarder2

Strangely this spammer doesn't make any attempt to prove this video wrong as he cannot.

Most of the arguments he uses are not based on any scientific data; so he tries to use emotional arguments.

He is not interested in your health, he is only interested in endoctrinating you and believe the same lies he does.

  • It has been suggested that an increased plasma homocysteine (Hcy) level is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.Remethylation of Hcy to methionine requires vitamin B12(methylcobalamin form)as a coenzyme for Hcy methyltransferase(methionine synthetase)and N5-methyltetrahydrofolate as a methyl donor. The transsulfuration pathway of Hcy to cysteine requires vitamin B6 as a coenzyme for both cystathionine β-synthase(converts Hcy to cystathionine)and cystathionine lyase

  • Vegans and ovo-lactovegetarians had significantly higher mean plasma Hcy levels than omnivores, and plasma Hcy concentration was significantly negatively correlated with serum/plasma vitamin B12 concentration"

  • "He summarised findings from 12 studies concerning cobalamin status in vegetarian/vegan diets, and found overall that 50% of the studies\u2019 participants could be considered as cobalamin-deficient. Armstrong et al.35 and Dong and Scott36 were able to show that cobalamin concentrations decrease with increasing avoidance of animal-derived products".

  • Intakes of vitamin B12 and selenium (Se) were below the appropriate lower reference nutrient intake (LRNI) in 80% and 65% of NSU respectively. After supplements, 33% of SU remained below the LRNI for vitamin B12 and 33% below the LRNI for Se.

  • Vitamin D Intake: A Global Perspective of Current Status1

    Mona S. Calvo*,2, Susan J. Whiting† and Curtis N. Barton*

"Even in countries that do fortify, vitamin D intakes are low in some groups due to their unique dietary patterns, such as low milk consumption, vegetarian diet, limited use of dietary supplements, or loss of traditional high fish intakes. Our global review indicates that dietary supplement use may contribute 6–47% of the average vitamin D intake in some countries."

  • "Vitamin D production is highest when the sun's rays are most intense-between 10a.m. and 3p.m. during the summer months. In locations above 42 degrees north latitude(Chicago, Boston, and Portland, Oregon, for instance),vitamin D production does not occur from late October through early March.Even as far south as Atlanta (about 35 degrees north latitude), vitamin D production doesn't occur from November to February."

  • Dietary intake and nutritional status of young vegans and omnivores in Sweden1,2,3

Christel L Larsson and Gunnar K Johansson

1 From the Department of Food and Nutrition, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden.

"Vegans had dietary intakes lower than the average requirements of riboflavin, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, calcium, and selenium. Intakes of calcium and selenium remained low even with the inclusion of dietary supplements"
