Alford has been taken over by gnomes. There are over 1200 gnome figurines, and one live apprenticeship gnome residing in Gnome Cottage. Ron the Gnome is, to say the least, obsessed and believes that he is a gnome-in-training. He looks forward to his 100th birthday when he will finally be an official gnome, and better still the age at which a gnome is allowed to wed.
