Created for Gus G., the electrifying young virtuoso just off the road with Ozzy Osbourne, the Gus G. FIRE Blackouts System includes a pair of traditional-looking humbucking pickups and a low-noise, high-output dual active preamp. Now hard rock and metal guitarists can get the explosive power they demand without sacrificing the expressive, hair-trigger response of a great passive pickup. It's the most organic-sounding active pickup system ever.

y'know, I think it's the Blackstar amps Gus insists on using... or at least the way he has them dialed in. I know I'll get flamed for saying so but seriously, nothing against Gus at all but almost every vid I've seen of him playing through a Blackstar sounds like this, fizzy/blubby/flabby/loose low-end w/not much 'stick' orï»ż punch... almost like a Boogie Dual rec with the rectifier tubes on instead of the germanium diode engaged if that makes any sense.

No. the sound is different too. the coil pack with preamp sounds almost exactly like the normal blackouts with some passive characteristics. The Gus G. set uses different coils that have a sort ofï»ż different midrange voicing. It's throatier with more treble than the normal blackouts.

it's possible.ï»ż but incredibly complex and expensive. plus the standard pots are replaced, so it wouldn't be the same.

Whats the difference between Gus G.ï»ż pups and the coil pack pups!?!?! Is it just the paint job and price?

you should listen to them and compare them with peavey, engl or messa amps... some people obviously like that empty sound but more people think they suck

and these pickups aren't fuzzy at all, it's obvious that the fuzzï»ż comes from the amp
