Fifth day of work on my new metal sculpture. I am drawing inspiration from a Calabi-Yau formation, but just loosely.

  • is the calabi-yau a way to visualize matter at realy small demensions, of reality?

  • It is what strings wrap around that give each the strings their different vibrations. This then supposedly gives each particle it's determinate properties. From what I understand, Calabi-Yau forms are 6 dimensional shapes, I am not sure if they are matter or not, I am an artist, not a physicist. Any physicists care to answer this question?

  • it would make a nice tattoo

  • Calabi yau shapes are what string theorist beleive to be what the extra dimentions look like. they are not matter but we move through these dimentions all the time, they are just too small to notice... and you are correct they are 6 dimentional shapes, and strings vibrate through them.. strings are a way to visualize matter at tiny tiny distance scales

  • Very nice.I love Calaby Yau shapes - I even got a tattoo of it on my shoulder. You are very good in metal sculpting.

    Peace
