A spectacular example of a 'drafting board' arranged roll, very popular for parlor entertainment. Theme followed by inventive variations. Regrettably I missed the opening bars. This Roll No 6100 from The Royal Music Roll Company of Buffalo NY pre-dates WW One. The piano seen & heard is my old warhorse HOMER by Mason & Risch Solodant expression upright that I restored more than 20 years ago. I have added a variable speed vacuum pump in the basement as well as auto rewind/repeat. The foot pump mechanism remains and is used on occasion. I love the growl this piano puts out in the strong bass...much of the time for a quickie tune fix or auditioning a box of new-to-the-house rolls I prefer this featherweight touch action humble Homer to the Duo-Art grand or Ampico spinet.
I love this!!! Five stars. Our first piano was a player, but the mechanism was broken so it only worked if I sat down to play...or my grandpa. I loved the quality of the sound better than any other piano that we ever had. Thanks for sharing.
