I remember Ray Heindorf's reaction when I played this for him one evening in 1973: "That's Harry's melody!" he said. This theme is played under dialogue during romantic scenes with George Brent and Ruby Keeler in the 1933 film '42nd St.' It has no words and was not published, yet it is one of my most requested compositions. I recorded it on my CD 'Deep Purple' available from cdbaby.com. The theme is also heard in the restaurant scene in the Cosmopolitan picture 'Cain and Mabel.'
Absolutely gorgeous piece of music. Well played, too! I had this as the music that played on my former web site's home page for years. I wrote two sets of lyrics for it in 2000.

Thanks! Did you ever notice that the "Coney Island" song from "Cain and Mabel" comes out of a radio in "Page Miss Glory," a year earlier?
