Inspired by an art contest called "The Lost Boys" on The Lion King Fan Art Archive, focusing on two characters cut from the Lion King movies: Mheetu, Nala's little brother, and Kopa, Simba and Nala's son. This is all fan theory, and it's not the theory I usually base my fanart around (I like Kopa dying and Mheetu living), so there is nothing "official" about this at all.

I am very proud of this video because I created each frame myself, with my own artwork. I hope you like it!

I am encouraging anyone who makes videos with Lion King fanart to link back to The Lion King Fan Art Archive, http://fanart.lionking.org -- these artists deserve credit and viewers of YouTube videos should be able to find them! :)

EDIT: I'm getting a lot of questions about where Mheetu and Kopa come from. Mheetu was a character originally supposed to be in "The Lion King" as Nala's little brother/tagalong ("Me too!") but was cut early on. You can see concept sketches for the character, which I based my design upon, here: http://s652.photobucket.com/albums/uu243/koraden/Concept%20Art/Characters/Cut...
Kopa was the 1994 canon for the cub of Simba and Nala. He appeared in a series of books called "The Lion King: Six New Adventures" which can also be read on my Photobucket (links to the left of the screen): http://s652.photobucket.com/albums/uu243/koraden/TLK6NA/

  • Is Mheetu scar and sarafina's cub? the way the mane, and the cheek tufts and the chin look. Well at least he was goodhearted unlike his father.

  • @SothernRedFox Yes, this video uses the theory that Mheetu is the cub of Sarafina and Scar. Many fans use different theories of Mheetu's parentage, but this one is my personal favorite.

  • Like it a lot BUT Kopa was killed by Zira, that's why Simba had Kiara and was so protective of her. Srry ima TLK dork :P

  • @ajlee2011

You're right, that is one of the most popular TLK theories among fans. It explains why Kiara looks different from the cub at the end of TLK, why Zira and her followers were exiled, why Kopa doesn't appear in Simba's Pride, and why Simba becomes a severely overprotective parent.

However, it is important to remember that this is a fan theory and not canon or Disney-endorsed. It is not the "true story" but a fan-made plot. Others have differing theories that may be very different. ;)

  • Dumb question, but all these backstories for Lion Kong characters, are they real,or just fan stories? If they are real, where does the info come from??

  • @IkkiTousen101 Most of the backstories you see are made up completely by fans (including this video!) but the characters themselves were created by Disney originally. Mheetu has no official story - he appeared in concept stage of "The Lion King" as Nala's little brother but was cut out of the storyline early on. Kopa does have some backstory as he appeared in a set of young reader books by Disney called "The Lion King: Six New Adventures" or TLK6NA. I have scans of those up on Photobucket.
