Michael Perry is a musician and writer who lives with his family in rural Wisconsin. Perry's bestselling memoir "Population 485: Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time" drew on his experiences as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. I got a good laugh out of this Mike. I used to work at a farm equipment dealership next to a cafe. When we got a good overnight snowstorm, the comments from the farmers who came by to eat after morning chores or who stopped in for parts, supplies, etc., centered around who had the toughest time getting to the cafe.
