CGRundertow - SUPER MARIO LAND for Game Boy Video Game Review

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Super Mario Land from Nintendo for the Game Boy. Released in 1989, Super Mario Land was a launch title for Nintendo's groundbreaking Game Boy. It would go on to sell more than 18 million copies in its lifetime and play a critical role in the breakout success of Game Boy. In this controversial review, however, Classic Game Room's Derek points out three main flaws in what he considers to be the worst Super Mario game of all-time. He bases his criticisms on the game's flawed gameplay mechanics, awkward appearance and decidedly un-Mario feel. Honestly, I love this guys reviews. But this is plain stupid. This game is amazing, it was the FIRST Gameboy game ever released, of course the sprites and weird and small. This is clearly a very biased opinion on the game. This review makes you sound like those dumbass kids that try to review games. Derek, your great man. But I lost some respect after watching this :/

After my last time replaying this game, I completely agree with this review. This game is barely average, almost shit. For a Mario game this game is absolute rubbish and should be erased from the series, leaving the amazing Super Mario Land 2. The only good thing I could honestly say for this game is that the music is really nice.

I actually gained respect for Derek after watching this. It shows that he isn't afraid to express his opinion, even if it's far from popular view. It shows he's "real" and wont pander to what the mainstream believes. Great video, Great review, despite me disagreeing with it.

I don't know man... This review really shocked me. I'm a big CGRU fan, but this here... I don't know. I love all the Super Mario Land games and still grab my old handheld from time to time go play them through. Back then all this GameBoy thing was something really big and we thought it couldn't get any better, it was just perfect, the graphics and everything.

This review kinda bugged me e little. Sorry guys, but it's maybe my third or fourth thumbsdown in YouTube... :-(

Meh, whatever. Reviews are subjective by nature,

but he does bring up a couple of rather interesting points,

and at least he has reasons. Most people just go "B3ST G@ME EVAR!1!" or "$UXX B@LLS"
