When oil was found in Mauritania less than a decade ago, foreign investors led people to believe that the discovery would bring an end to poverty.

But some main contractors have left and, as Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall reports from the capital Nouakchott, the west African nation is spending more on oil imports than it is earning from exports.

Your mama the camel is an immigrant ya yekhzikh racist clown

let me break it down for you

    MAURITANIA:

    30% BLACK

    50% ARABIZED BLACK

    20% ARABIZED BERBER

NOW SIT YOUR RACIST MOUSTA-ARAB BERBER ASS DOWN

  • @boulmaouahibe lol prove it you're just lying, 70% of the country is black or black with some moor ancestry. The rest are mainly moor.

  • @boulmaouahibe Lol But aren't you african? you're not Saudi Arabian. 70% of the country is of black African descent, 30% are Berber/Arab mix or moor. I don't understand why that is so difficult. Yes Mauritanians are all Muslims but Most Mauritanians are black. If the average Mauritanian goes to Saudi Arabia they wont be considered Arabian even the more exclusively arab Mauritanians. That like me going to Europe and saying I'm white because I have som euro blood..lol That would be a joke.

  • 100% black 400 years ago? Is that nonsense what you teach, Professor...?

  • What about ex-"Spanish Sahara"...?

  • What about ex-"Spanish Sahara"...?

  • Not only are your numbers wrong - even if they were not, it absolutely is not important how many percent of the population are black and how many are "white" (Beidan). The relevant question is only which of the two groups "run" the country. Certainly not the "black Mauritanians". Just look at the political leaders since independance. Has Mauritania ever had a black president?

  • It amazes me to read and realize - as a German - how many things you do not know aout your country. A country not knowing it's history is doomed. Even the (supposed) Professor on page 1 got most of his statements wrong.

Get your act straight, guys. But exactly this is your biggest problem. On one hand you are born stupid - on the other you are too lazy to get an eductation. No! This is not true for all of the country, but certainly true for a very-very high percentage of Mauritania (ca. 98%).

  • @boulmaouahibe

Mauritania is named after the Roman province of Mauretania, even though the modern state covers a territory far to the southwest of the old province.
