here is my tutorial on how to import your custom sprites into your RMXP game and use them with my side view battle script. all you have to do is just make sure that you import the sprite set into the battlers and characters tab in material base. to get the white box off your sprites just left click on the background color in most cases it is white if you use photoshop you can use the checkard background. with that you don't have to left click the color it will automatically import it. anymore Questions?

  • dont know

  • @pwnisher3 yeah i got a question dude. i imported a ton of different bosses into the battlers and character folders and when i battle test it im only seeing a portion of the boss not the whole thing. any ideas captain?

  • @sixstringscumdog The only thing I can think of is maybe part of them is the same color as the background, if it is, it will make that part transparent as well

  • how do you get custom sprites as enemys....i did what you said for hero people and it worked but when i use one for enemy it dosent work.....any ideas?

  • i have a small problem, i fallowed exactly as you said to input the battle script...so i playtested it and everything was good, but, when i tryed to attack...my char. stayed in the same place but his legs were moving like crazy...anything i did wrong?

  • Thanks man, works perfect. My custom character was running in place as well until I changed the "battle graphic" in the actor section to the character/sprite i was using. that's probably what most people didn't do who are having trouble with it. and making custom sprite enemies is just the same way with making a regular enemy. it will show up as sprite sheet on both though, so dont be fooled by that..hope that helped anyone..

  • nice wallpaper xD !

  • where is the link to get the script?

  • @MoveBoy95 i think this has something to do with your sprites not being in the rite folder. but i may be wrong on that. not sure really. i get that too sometimes when i try to create a new character class for my characters.

  • @DRSOBE input a number in the ATK-F spot in your Database on the specific skill to make it a melee attack. Anything with a value of 0 in the ATK-F is considered magic. if you put a number there it becomes a melee attack. sweet huh? lol

  • @AbridgingAlchemist your best bet is to just get rid of your current BS and get the Rice Field BS its freaking awesome man.

  • @NovaShadowBlade um really i cant say for sure. what Battle System do u use?

im currently using the rice field battle system myself. its awesome by the way. uh maybe tho the problem could be in your animations. idk ? not sure you may have to post a video or just be more specific. i mean dont get me wrong im not an expert at this stuff. but i will try and help. i know just how frustrating this crap can be sometimes.

  • @sixstringscumdog yeah, i use paint. I got it working now, though. But the enemy attacks appear behind all of my characters, why is that?

  • @NovaShadowBlade I think u may have been doing the same thing i was doing. tell me more on how u imported the enemy sprite. is it just one pic u imported maybe using paint or a similar program?

  • @sixstringscumdog the cool part is that doing it this way i had to eyeball it. and the sprites were off a lil bit which makes it look animated when u turn on the Stop Animation with the boss graphic on the map. Awesome!!

  • @pwnisher3 it was actually something very simple i was importing ONE picture. So it was only showing like a quarter of it. To remedy this i simply read the Dimensions in the RMXP instructions and it basically said that the character had to be a fourth of the actual size of the "template" you put it on in paint (what i use) to have it appear correctly. I took the size of the boss and multiplied times 4 then made a custom "Charset by copying a pasting them 4 across and down. It works.
