even my Nokia do this. It's a fact of life. And you will not ever keep the iPhone in that way while you calling. When you grab the iPhone for calling there is ALWAYS a space between iPhone and your hand. I have also an iPhone 3G and I hold it at the middle up...The antenna part is always completly free when I call.
