Digu Digu Digu Naaga - Telugu song

Snakes has a special significance in Hindu mythology.
Nagula Chavithi is observed on the fourth day after Deepavali Amavasya during Kartika masam. Nagula Chavithi 2010 date is 9th November. Nag Panchami and Nagasashti are observed after Naga Chaturthi. The dates to observe Naga Panchami is November 10 and Naga Sashti is on November 11.
Nagula Chavithi in Kartika masam is a major festival in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka. The rituals and puja procedures are different from place to place. Some people place Naga devatha idol at home and perform puja.
But in some places, devotees go to 'Putta' (Snake pit) and offer naivedyam and perform other pujas there.
The popular legend associated with Nagula Chavithi in Telugu Hindu culture suggests that on the day Lord Shiva drank the poison Halahala or Kalkuta to save the universe during the famous incident of Samudra Manthan.

Nag Panchami is celebrated to worship snakes. It is a festival in the honour of the Snake God, Shesha Nag. People worship snakes by offering milk and Puja.

On this day married women and the girls wake up early in the morning, take head bath, arrange the things necessary for puja and start to reach a nearest AntHill(Snake's Home). They offer puja and Milk to the AntHill and pray to Snake God for the Wellness of their brothers and their family. If there is no AntHill nearby, they offer milk and puja to the snake statues erected in the nearby temples. A portion of Milk taken for puja is taken back home and offered to everyone at home as prasadam(Thirtham).
