  • There is a huge difference between Anne Frank's diary and Charlotte Salomon's diary. Salomon's Leben oder Theater is much more an exploration of her family's history of depression and suicide. I do wonder what her work has to do with the Shoah, except for the fact that she was a victim of it. Also I think her memoire is utterly personal and individual, a personal song ("singespiel"). Her journal is not about the holocauset per sé.
