This story line is so implausible. Why would anyone want to torture themselves like this? I honestly do enjoy this show. I think the writers could have gone in a different direction at this point though.

I hate those little nicknames that Mel gave Daphne. So rude. Daphne was much more worthy of Niles' love than her. Mel was so rude, stuck up and condescending, it made me sick. She kept calling Daphne "little English muffin" or the "British tramp". Granted, Mel does have a right to be pissed but she has no reason to call Daphne any of those names, she didn't even know her. Niles knew Daphne and that's why he loved her. Mel got what she deserved in my opinion.

I like the changeover Simon's made from season 7-8. He's gone from an unlikable character to to a welcome minor addition that rolls of the other cast's jokes really well.
