Looks like a Dendy to me, which I think I read ran at a 50hz framerate, but still used the 1.79mHz CPU rate like the NTSC. In theory it would sound at NTSC pitch but play back the notes at the slower PAL rate.

That is just so awesome it's beyond awesome! The game doesn't exactly look like a batman game to me, is this a secret level or something? How did you make some of the music play though the AY? If you havent allready, could you please post all the songs played this way, it sounds incredible!

is it possible in any way to enforce this sound in emulator?

If I get a BatMan Return of the Joker cartridge would it be possible to flash an EPROM so I can play Gimmick! on my japanese Famicom? I want to play the game on the real hardware as intended but I can not find a cartridge!

Er, not dendy, 'micro computer'. Is it from brazil or another pal-M or pal-N location? Or is it european in origin? The system is quite odd and I'd love to run some tests on it. It appears to have some sort of hybrid pal/ntsc timing going on.
really sound that
