This is a video I made for my Ethnic Studies 185: "Discourse, Power, and Inequality" class at UCSD. (best class, I've taken so far)
**Disclaimer: This is the first video I've made, ever. so dont hate. and, i only edited parts of other video clips, which i only borrowed and don't belong to me.

If you haven't noticed yet, all these big companies take graffiti art and are incorporating it into their products to make it "cool" and sell it to the youth. The problem with this is that these big, capitalist, corporations are appropriating street art, art of the people, and using it only for their own economic gain. And it's not cool.
so,
OPPOSE CORPORATE GRAFFITI!!!
Do not buy "graffiti inspired" products!!
SUPPORT LOCAL GRAFFITI ART AND STREET ARTISTS!!!!!

I THINK SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD MY MESSAGE:
There's a big difference in what the big corporations are doing (taking graffiti art for their own economic gain) vs. supporting graffiti art.
I'm totally all for graffiti art, and I do think graffiti artists should get paid to do what they love. But I think its wrong that these corporations are taking advantage of this raw art.

when I was a little graff grom catching tags in the early 90's my best dream was to actually get paid to do what I love(graff). I didnt have shit for chances in life. but luckily, I was smart enough to get my hustle on and stay on point and do my best to come up. Now I get paid proper to do my art.
