wow,thats just amazing work !!!

@snelbry Because that's what many buyers want. The choice is often, "Do I carve an eagle and sell it this week or carve a dragon and hopefully sell it in the next couple of years?"

Why dose every Chainsaw artist make an Eagle.

@MrSilwia007 I use salvaged, the trees are actually blown down by wind storms and are a fire hazard, old growth western red cedar. Some of the most beautiful wood in the world. Thank you for your complement. Jack

hey whats a good starting out chainsaw for a first time chainsaw carver. good brands? i noticed that alot of chainsaws used by carvers have a vary short and tapered bar. is that a speacial kind of chainsaw or could i find it at a powertools store with the wrest of the Stihl chainsaws and whatnot... any advice would be much appriciated.

Stihl is the brand I recommend, if you want to save money maybe a 210 or if money is not a problem then go with a MS200. The bar you see is a carving bar and stihl makes some of these as well. If you want the best carving bar out there google Sioux Bars otherwise your Stihl dealer will hook you up with what you will need to put a carving bar on your new saw.

wow your amazing
im a avid learner and have learned a ton from you ,
lookin on
,,but one thing ,,whats the shellac or stain,
i use either shoe polish or wax and torch it
they will penetrate the wood and not remove the cedar color ,,unless you use colored polish
wow your amzing
ive subscribed to you now

no stain that's the natural color of cedar. I do use a marine spar varnish on the finished piece
