Planet Puzzle League: Time Attack 174,675

After a ton of fiddling and re-encoding, I think I've managed to find a way to record replays from Planet Puzzle League. If this turns out well, I might upload some other videos from DS games.

This is my best Time Attack run on PPL so far.

This is NOT a TAS. I do NOT pause in Score Attack, and this was played on an actual DS, not an emulator.

I had to record the audio and video separately, hence the desynced chime at the end.

Note: The reason the flashing numbers are sometimes invisible and sometimes static is due to YouTube re-encoding the video to a lesser FPS (looks like either 30 or 24). I'll try to find a workaround for this the next time I upload a video.

Since you seem to be one to ask, can you tell me if getting a high score with Exploding Lift on overrides you high score with it off? I've always been afraid to really get into exploding lift because I don't want to lose my normal high score.

@MathUDX Yeah, playing with EF will overwrite your no-EF high score. Personally, I just make sure to keep the replay video of my best no-EF score.

My best without exploding lift is 60,394.

How did you record it if you played it on an actual DS?

I copied the save file from my (fully legit) DS PPL card to my computer, loaded the save file into an emulator, then recorded the video output from the emulator playing the replay.

For the audio, I hooked up the headphone output on my DS to the Line In input on my computer and recorded the sound.

Finally, I used VirtualDub to put the video and audio together and add the name, date, and picture on the lower left.
